An Alma Comfort Club (our maintenance plan) member called because the drain pan under the indoor unit was filling up and leaking. Water was reaching the floor, and the laminate was starting to buckle.
What Our Technician Found
When an AC cools, it pulls water out of the air. That water drips off the coil into a pan and runs out a drain line. On this system, water was not draining the way it should. Some was running off the underside of the coil onto the fan motor instead of into the pan, and the drain line needed to be cleared.

What We Completed
- Checked where the water was coming from.
- Cleared the clogged condensate drain line (the pipe that carries water away from the unit).
- Checked the drain pan and coil.
- Went over what we found with the homeowner.
The Result
The drain line is clear, so water has a path out of the unit again. Learn more about our AC repair.
What Homeowners Can Learn From This Job
- Water around the indoor unit needs quick attention. It can damage floors and walls.
- Drain lines clog over time. Dust and slime build up inside them.
- A tune-up includes the drain. Regular maintenance helps keep it flowing.
