Outdoor units collect more than dust. In early September, a Barling homeowner booked a Cool Deal AC tune-up special on a system about 11 to 15 years old. Opening the condenser (the outdoor unit) told most of the story.
What Our Technician Found
Inside the outdoor cabinet, leaves and debris were packed around the compressor (the pump inside the outdoor unit) in the bottom of the unit. That buildup traps heat, blocks water from draining, and can speed up rust and corrosion. The tune-up included an inspection, a check of the refrigerant (the fluid that carries heat out of your home), coil care, electrical checks, and an airflow check.

What We Completed
- Completed the AC tune-up.
- Looked over the outdoor unit and took photos of the debris packed in the bottom.
- Did the regular tune-up checks on an older system.
The Result
The homeowner can see how much debris the outdoor unit had been holding, and the fall tune-up is done on equipment that is over 10 years old. Learn more about our AC maintenance.
What Homeowners Can Learn From This Job
- Leaves collect in the bottom of outdoor units. Fall is when River Valley outdoor units fill up the most.
- Age plus debris is a warning sign. Systems that are 11 to 15 years old need a closer eye.
- Tune-up photos help you plan. They help you decide when cleaning or replacement makes sense.
