Indoor Fan Not Blowing Any Air in Fort Smith, AR (Blower Motor Replaced)

The indoor fan in this Fort Smith home was not moving any air, and the house was getting hot. Nobody was living in the home at the time, so the owner met our technician there to let him in.

What Our Technician Found

Our technician traced the problem to the blower motor (the motor that spins the indoor fan and pushes air through your vents). It needed to be replaced. This is an older system that runs on R-22, a refrigerant (the fluid that carries heat out of your home) that is no longer made, and it also needed refrigerant added.

What We Completed

  • Pulled the blower assembly out of the unit.
  • Replaced the blower motor with a new one.
  • Added R-22 refrigerant to the system.
  • Checked the system after the repair.

The Result

Air is moving through the vents again. Because R-22 is no longer made and keeps getting harder to find, it is worth knowing your options before the next repair. Learn more about our AC repair.

What Homeowners Can Learn From This Job

  • No air from the vents usually points to the indoor unit. The blower motor or its parts are a common cause.
  • Turn the system off if the fan stops. Running it with no airflow can cause other problems.
  • Know what refrigerant your system uses. Older R-22 systems cost more to recharge.
