Full Cooling and Heating Replacement in Fort Smith, AR (American Standard AC and Furnace)

A homeowner in Fort Smith was ready to replace the whole cooling and heating system at once, outside and in. Luis and Seth from our River Valley team handled the replacement, matching every major part so the system works together as designed.

What We Installed

The new outdoor unit is an American Standard Silver series air conditioner. That is the part outside that pushes the heat from inside your home out into the yard. Inside, we paired it with a matching cooling coil, the part that pulls heat and moisture out of the air as it passes through, and a new American Standard gas furnace in the attic. The furnace heats the home in winter and also runs the fan that moves cooled air through the vents in summer.

What We Completed

  • Removed the old system and set the new American Standard air conditioner on a sturdy equipment pad
  • Installed a matching indoor cooling coil and a new gas furnace in the attic
  • Built a new connection box where the ductwork meets the furnace
  • Installed a drain pan with a safety switch that shuts the system off if water starts to back up, protecting the ceiling below
  • Added surge protection to guard the new electronics from power spikes
  • Installed an outdoor power shutoff box and ran new thermostat wiring
  • Started the system and walked the homeowner through the new equipment

The Result

The home now has a complete, matched system with safety features that protect both the equipment and the house. Learn more on our Fort Smith AC installation page.

What Homeowners Can Learn From This Job

  • Replace the matching parts together. An outdoor unit and indoor coil that are designed for each other tend to run better and last longer than a new unit tied to an old coil.
  • Attic systems need a backup plan for water. A drain pan and safety switch can stop a small clog from turning into a stained or soaked ceiling.
  • Protect the electronics. Modern systems have circuit boards inside, and surge protection is a simple way to guard them.
