Time to Replace the AC and Furnace in Greenwood, AR (American Standard Silver System)

This Greenwood homeowner was ready for a full replacement of the cooling and heating equipment. Luis, Seth and Johan installed a matched American Standard Silver series system, with the furnace in an indoor closet and the outdoor unit in the side yard.

What We Installed

The outdoor unit is an American Standard Silver series air conditioner, the part that carries heat from inside the home out into the yard. Indoors, we installed a matching cooling coil, which pulls heat and moisture from the air, on top of a new American Standard Silver gas furnace. The furnace keeps the home warm in winter and runs the fan that moves cooled air through the vents in summer.

What We Completed

  • Removed the old equipment and set the new air conditioner on a new equipment pad
  • Installed a new gas furnace and matching cooling coil in the closet
  • Built a custom duct fitting so the existing ductwork connects cleanly to the new furnace
  • Connected the gas line to the new furnace
  • Installed two drain safety switches that shut the system off if water starts to back up
  • Installed an outdoor power shutoff box and new power line to the outdoor unit
  • Walked the homeowner through the new system and thermostat

The Result

The home now has a matched system for every season, with extra protection against water leaks inside. See more on our Greenwood AC installation page.

What Homeowners Can Learn From This Job

  • Matched parts work best together. A coil built for the outdoor unit helps the whole system run the way it was designed to.
  • Water protection is worth it. Drain safety switches are a small part that can prevent big cleanup jobs.
  • Ask for a walkthrough. Knowing how to use the thermostat and when to change the filter keeps a new system running well.
